Braiden's 1st Birthday

My grandbaby Braiden turned 1 today! We had it at my house and had a bbq and swimming. It turned out to be really fun! Braiden got lot's of gifts and Papa Steve helped him open all of them! Happy Birthday Baby Boy!

So Danette, Karri, Kim, and myself decided we needed a break. We were looking for some down time, doing whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted! We decided that the beach was where we would find just that, so we headed off to Carlsbad, CA. We had quite a time laughing and carrying on and reminiscing of the last time the four of us took a vacation which was 10 years ago. Kim brought along her GPS so we could find our way around easier because we are all now in our 40's! Right! It took us about 45 minutes to find Beni Hanas restaurant that the girls swore they saw it on our way into town! We drove all around doing u-turns and right turns, curb hopping, scaring the crap out of everyone in the car ( I was in complete control of the vehicle at all times, I want you to know!) and upsetting the locals, until we decided it would be a good idea to head back to the hotel to get the address (yes I left the brochure in our room!) since the "tom-tom" was trying to take us to Oceanside. After punching in the address, we headed out again, only to find that all we had to do was "turn left...drive .01 miles and turn left...you have arrived at your destination". What? We could've walked! It was on the other side of our hotel! Scary, I know!

We had a great time once we found the place!

Chilled on the beach...

Got wired on Red Bull...

And ate up the surf boogie boarding! Unfortunately, Kim didn't have much success. Maybe it had something to do with the rope being attached to her ANKLE instead of her WRIST! Ha ha ha!
